Michael King
Managing Director
After completing a Bachelor of Business at Bond University, Michael commenced his career in finance with Australia’s largest automotive group, AP Eagers. It was here that Michael gained extensive experience finding a finance solution that perfectly suited each individual customer. Before founding Kingsway Smart Loans alongside his father Wayne and his sister Angela in 2018, Michael progressed to a senior management position with AP Eagers and was responsible for training and developing a number of finance professionals to provide outstanding service to their respective clients.
Wayne King
Director
Wayne has over 40 years of Automotive industry experience and has achieved numerous national awards for sales outcomes and customer service. He was responsible for managing Queensland’s top performing Nissan and Honda dealerships for 11 consecutive years.
For the last 22 years Wayne has led one of Australia’s leading sales and management training companies. The lessons learned at the coal face, speaking with real customers in real time exposed a glaring need for someone to provide a fast, reliable, ethical and understanding platform for people to access funding for their everyday asset purchases.
As a result of that, Kingsway Smart Loans was founded in 2018 as a family business that understands the needs and challenges that everyday people face. It is a simple philosophy, but one that the market greatly needs and the response and acceptance of the business and what we represent has been phenomenal.
Angela King
Senior Broker
Angela worked for several years in Automotive after sales and had extensive experience in Body Corporate Property Management before joining the Kingsway Smart Loans team. Angela joined the team shortly after having her gorgeous daughter, Frankie. Her and Michael’s purpose for Kingsway Smart Loans is to create a company that offers a more personable experience for the customer, that can only come from a close family operated business.
Our history
Michael and Angela, alongside their father Wayne, made the decision to start Kingsway Smart Loans in 2018 with the aim to provide a personalised, family like service. What started as a simple Facebook page servicing friends, family and colleagues quickly grew to assisting countless customers nation-wide on how to quickly and easily obtain finance for all manner of assets including cars, boats, trucks, etc after word circulated about how the Kingsway team made the entire process simple, enjoyable and above all, cost effective.
